Lone Operator Series Course Purpose and Scope

The T3i Lone Operator Series is designed to provide deploying personnel with personal force protection techniques and combative concepts tailored to the unique demands of solo or small-team operations in today's complex threat environment. At the core of the problem is the HITS fighting system — developed over three decades by Henk Iverson — which offers a structured, adaptable methodology that enables operators of all experience levels to integrate effective fighting skills into their existing tactical framework. This non-sport, street-effective system blends empty-hand techniques, edged weapons, and combat ballistic weapon strategies, specifically designed for the modern low-visibility Special Operations operator.

Training Methodology

At T3i Lone Operator, we recognize that people learn in different ways, and our training methodology reflects that understanding. Using the proven EDIP approach—Explanation, Demonstration, Imitation, and Practice—we ensure that every student grasp not only how to perform each tactic or technique, but also why it's used. Our Instructors guide students through hands-on, progressive learning, correcting and refining performance at every stage. Training follows a building-block structure, where new skills are introduced only after prior techniques are mastered. Each day beings with a review and ends with a graded qualification and stress shoot, reinforcing long-term retention. We don't check boxes—our goal is to equip students with lifelong tactical competence and confidence.
Lone Operator Series Course Information

All Lone Operator courses are 5 full days, led by Henk Iverson and HITS-certified instructors at our training sites in Casper, WY (Apr, Oct) and St. Augustine, FL (year-round). Course accommodate 10-16 students; units provide their own weapons, gear, and ammo. Secure storage, ranges, dojos, and classrooms are provided. Lodging and meals are not included—students bring lunch daily to maximize training time. Full course details, gear lists, and pricing are available upon request after coordination.
"The HITS Lone Operator AFPHE training program is the most realistic personal self-defense / small unit force protection course for low visibility operations that exist today. It increased the survivability of my team and enabled us to be successful and return home safely." J.L., Special Forces Operator, 10th SFG

Courses and Descriptions

1. The Advanced Force Protection in Hostile Environments (AFPHE) Course
The AFPHE Course is T3i's foundational Lone Operator program, focused on equipping operators with practical, integrated combat skills for high-threat settings. Training covers deceptive striking, edged and ballistic weapon employment, concealed carry tactics, confined space and vehicle fighting, tactical medicine under duress, and scenario-based application.
2. Advanced Combat Pistol (ACP)
The ACP Course, developed by T3i's lead instructor, Henk Iverson, is a core component of the HITS Fighting System and focuses on real-world handgun combat—not sport shooting. Designed for operators working in urban or austere environments where the pistol often becomes the primary weapon, the course emphasizes practical, life-saving tactics over range-based habits. Students train in dynamic scenarios covering movement, use of cover, close-quarters engagements, wounded shooter tactics, vehicle fighting, and low-light conditions, while integrating empty-hand and edged weapon skills. The ACP course evolves constantly based on battlefield feedback, adapting to emerging threats, gear, and enemy tactics.
3. Advanced Combat Carbine (ACC)
The ACC Course trains operators in practical, real-world carbine fighting tactics, emphasizing movement, cover, extreme close-quarters combat, wounded shooter techniques, and integration with combat pistols. Designed for high-threat environments where resupply may not be an option, the course stresses accuracy, ammunition management, and tactical decision-making under duress. Students engage in physically demanding, scenario-based drills—ensuring they can fight through injury and chaos. Constantly updated to reflect evolving threats, the ACC Course develops adaptive resilient, and lethal operators ready for the modern battlefield.
4. Hard Targets Couse (HTC) Note: HTC is only taught at our Casper, WY training location
The HTC is an advanced follow-up on the AFPHE Course and requires successful completion as a pre-requisite. Building on foundational skills, HTC delivers scenario-based training that integrates advanced street fighting, edged ballistic weapons, and improvised tactics—tested under highly realistic, high-stress operation conditions.
5. Improvised Casualty Care in Austere and Non-permissive Environments (ICCANE)
The ICCANE Course prepares special operations warfighters to manage combat trauma without reliable access to medical support, evacuation, or equipment. Built on a TCCC foundation, the course emphasizes self-care, improvised medicine, and skill integration for the lone operator. Over five days, students engage in intensive hands-on training, including scenario-based exercises, live fire, and force-on-force simulations.
" Best staff of instructors I've ever been around...everything is drawn from real-life experience and fueled by a passion for making warfighters more lethal...I cannot wait to attend another course." B.M., MARSOC Raider Team Leader
